Got BDE?⚡️
Hi BDEs! ⚡️
Took some time off over the past few weeks, you’ll understand why soon 😉 I went to Lisbon, Portugal to meet up with some other data creators and then immediately flew to Miami for a 2 week cruise with my husband. It was SO NICE to take some time off, film some content, and realign on my mental health.

I’m a really busy data analyst and entrepreneur who travels a lot and works remotely in weird places— which is why I love using Trello🔗 to organize, plan, and even schedule my tasks. They even have offline mode which allows me to make adjustments on my phone even without wifi! This has come in handy so many times while I’ve been on a cruise or working remotely. Try out Trello today to organize your studies, work, or business! And keep a lookout for the NEW Trello coming soon! 😍

How to Make your Own Ghibli Image
ChatGPT just got a huge upgrade that’s taking the internet by storm— they just launched a new AI image generator. Whether you’re an AI artist or a techie who just likes to have fun and experiment (me LOL!), this is a huge advancement in the accessibility and quality of AI image generation. So why does the internet care THIS much?
Everyone is making good use of these advancements by making their own AI art, specifically self portraits in the style of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation studio. If you’ve ever wanted to see yourself drawn in this style, now is your chance. You just have to upload a photo and use the prompt: Make a Studio Ghibli image inspired by this image. Of course, the more specific you are in the prompt with what you want, the better your result will be. But even with this simple prompt and no further instructions, I’ve gotten some pretty amazing and detailed results. I mean look at how cute me and Megan Lieu are below 🥰
Here’s a few more examples of what I was able to create in seconds with AI and a simple prompt:
Sam Altman reported that the Studio Ghibli trend is melting ChatGPTs processors— in other words: people are getting a little too crazy in the amount of images they’re generating at once, so the servers crashed. They’re back up and running but they’ve added in new rate limits which only allow you to generate so many images at once. I’ve already gotten the “please wait 10 min” message a few times LOL...
This new advancement is sparking interesting conversation around the ethics of AI and IP of artists. As of now, we don’t know too much about how the original Studio Ghibli art has been used by Open AI, but I speculate we will be learning more in the upcoming weeks. I do believe it’s the platform’s responsibility to care for IP and protect artists’ work, but it’s also something consumers should think about too. I always support local artists every time I travel, but unfortunately Studio Ghibli was not available to make me a custom portrait LOL. I mostly wanted to highlight the advancements in AI while also respecting the original art and culture. What are your thoughts on this topic? Put it in the newsletter subscriber chat below.

I thought this was an April Fools email since Hayao Miyazaki is (according to random articles I've seen online) anti AI art 😬 I'm torn between the part of my brain that goes "cute pictures" and the side that wants to protect the artists
Super interesting! Another ethical concern I’ve thought about often (I use gen ai every day) is not only protecting artists but also the environmental impact of gen ai/data centers.
