why everyone is moving from ChatGPT to Claude
how to move your data & keep your history
Got BDE?⚡️
Hi data baddies 💅🏼
If you’ve been wondering how to build an ENTIRE complete portfolio project for your data analytics or data science portfolio, check my latest YouTube video🔗 where I cleaned and visualized a dataset in only 10 min. I used a visual data software called KNIME🔗 that helps you put together all the steps visually and create an analysis! KNIME supports end-to-end workflows and makes it really easy to follow the logic from raw data to final output.
You can download KNIME for free🔗, so you can do it, too! Grab my data cleaning & visualization template I used on YouTube HERE🔗, and check out their other templates too. They are projects related to Data Science, LLMs, AB testing and more. What a GREAT TOOL!
I built a data analyst AI Agent completely from scratch with no code and it automated my LinkedIn analytics every morning to Slack and GMail! It’s hard work being a LinkedIn Lunatic, but following the data has gotten me 263K followers 😅
Okay so ChatGPT has a chokehold on all of us for YEARS
But something has been shifting quietly and if you work in writing, coding, or literally any kind of business, you’ve probably noticed it.
People are moving to Claude and this is not an overnight, dramatic move, just a moment of realization that Claude actually sounds like a normal human. And of course, when there is change there is hesitation.
But then why is everyone moving?
Tone & Writing Quality
We know ChatGPT for being sycophantic, verbose, and oddly enthusiastic. Followed by paragraphs that just restates what you just said, making it over-the-top and exhausting to read.
Claude, on the other hand, sounds like a competent professional who would assist you in whatever work you do. Input samples of your writing and voice, and Claude will nail the tone without sounding AI or filled with fluff.
Prompt: How do I get better at SQL?
Claude Code
It’s not just GOOD at writing code. It can complete an entire end-to-end coding tasks autonomously. No current tool does this at the same level of accuracy. Imagine letting Claude Code handle FULL technical projects from start to finish.
If you’re working on SQL, Python, and data science specifically, here’s what it can do:
SQL:
It can write complex window functions and CTEs from plain English
Debug why your JOIN is returning duplicates
Even convert queries between dialects (MySQL to BigQuery, anyone?)
Python:
You can generate pandas scripts to clean and reshape messy data
Build API pipelines to pull from tools like Salesforce or Stripe
Debug cryptic dtype mismatch errors
Refactor messy notebooks into clean, reusable code that your team can work with
Data Science & Analytics:
Spin up a full EDA script in MINUTES
Build out a churn prediction model end-to-end
Set up proper A/B test analysis with actual statistical significance
Automate your weekly reporting to make your life easier
No Moralizing or Disclaimers
While Claude Code is out here completing entire technical projects autonomously, ChatGPT is still busy moralizing simple questions. Even when you input something straightforward, ChatGPT will still get a preamble, warnings, and disclaimers that water down the entire output. Claude just gives you a direct answer.
Prompt: "What's the most effective way to cold email someone to get a job?"
Claude Cowork: For Non-Coders
This brings the autonomous agency that Claude Code has to regular business users, which gives non-technical people AI agents that can handle boring computer tasks.
Think of Claude Cowork as your AI employee that handles the boring, repetitive computer work that you’ve been putting off. Cowork can go into your file system and reorganize folders based on rules you set, rename and sort hundreds of files in just seconds. Yes, SECONDS.
And at the moment, ChatGPT isn’t close to offering anything equivalent
Now, how do we switch without losing your history?
Starting fresh in Claude feels like a first date, making you want to go back to your past (ChatGPT). But here is how you don’t lose your data:
Option 1: Full Data Export (Highly Recommended)
Although there is no direct way to import your data, here is how you can do it yourself
Go to ChatGPT settings → Data → Export
Download the ZIP file of your entire conversation history
Upload the conversation data in the ZIP file into a Claude Project
Claude now has all your historical context
Option 2: Selective Export
This method is more time-consuming but useful if you only need select conversations
Paste specific conversations directly into a Claude chat to pick up where you left off or get a second opinion
Upload your exported markdown files so that Claude can read and analyze your past chats
Or just summarize the key context from old conversations and drop it in
In the end,
All AI tools go through cycles and ebbs and flows. The smart move isn’t picking one and ignoring the rest; it’s learning to leverage all of them effectively.
So my question to you baddies isn’t “are you switching to Claude or staying with ChatGPT?” It’s ¿por qué no los dos? 😉
Bye BDEs 💅🏼

Since Matt's blog I feel the pressure to try Claude Pro, and you just gave me good details of why.. But for know I'm with Gemini, and Yisus, sometimes my coding / debugging / learning sessions ends with philosophical conversations
I moved from Claude to Adal. Loving it
